Lawford Lake 2008
Lorraine and I invite you to come and visit us at Lawford Lake and enjoy the whole lake to yourself and your fishing enthusiasts. For your comfort and safety, we have to offer two beautiful cottages; ideally will lodge 2 to 12 persons with all the necessary conveniences to keep you completely focused on enjoying your fishing or hunting holiday. Lawford Lake is a newly family-run fishing operation, but has been a traditional home away from home/camp for over 50 years. We have found any day is a good day to be out on Lawford Lake. Don't forget to ask about our American Plan!!
Lawford Lake is situated in Northern Manitoba located about 60 miles north from the historic community of Norway House, Manitoba. 11 miles long and 6 miles wide, its depth of 60 feet in some places is surrounded with a rugged, natural environment. There are lots of islands and bays where you are certain to hear or see many loons and bald eagles at any time. Much of the land that encompasses this Northern wilderness is home to all kinds of wild life, such as caribou, moose, bear, otters, beaver and wolves. At the right seasons, berries are in abundance. Most of all this small private lake has trophy-size fish that swim its deep clear water. The fishing is unbelievable and exciting if you are an avid fisherman or a rookie.
With our group fishing, three to five fishermen can take two boats with one experienced guide to all the fishing “hot spots.” Two guests will be on one boat and the other boat may carry the other three guests, which ever is preferable.
The Camp Manager/Guide is initially expected to:
-navigate the new guests around the territory to ensure they become familiar with the water routes and especially the numerous reefs in the surrounding lake.
-ensure your boat is fully equipped with the safety essentials ranging from gas, life jackets, fishing equipment, paddles etc. prior to your fishing experience.
-prepare and cook your shore lunch (this will allow the group an extra hour of fishing leisure) and/or be available to assist in ensuring your shore lunch is successfully part of your outdoor and fishing experience.
At the end of the day, the guide willclean up and store away the fishing equipment, be available to assist in the dinner preparations, i.e.: starting the barbecue, cleaning fish etc.

The Trip from Winnipeg to Norway House will take approximately 8 hours.
Directions from Winnipeg:
-Take Highway 6 (~5.5 hours or 550 kms) to Ponton, MB.
-Turn right on Highway 373
-Drive approximately 30 kms to the Norway House Junction. The last 1.5 to 2 Hours (~170 kms) is Gravel.
A Cessna 185 is provided by the lodge for your air transport
